ECLIPSING THE ECLIPSE---- I wanted to find a suitable location to experience the second super-sized full moon in the same month with a total lunar eclipse that was ending around sunrise. It was something that has not occurred in 150 years. I chose a view from Smith Rock State Park in Central Oregon to view the eclipsing moon as it descended through the saddle of some of the areas iconic peaks. However, the opportunity to photograph the totality of the eclipse was eclipsed by the cloud cover which moved into Central Oregon about an hour after the eclipse began. The moon finally broke through some of the clouds as it was about the leave the saddle. This shows image the approximate path of the moon against a blue hour image of the location yesterday morning. I can always try again in another 30 or more years! #nightscape #eclipse #nightphotography #nightscapes #bendoregon #centraloregon #visitbend #youroregon #traveloregon #oregonexplored #bestoforegon #cascadiaexplored #exploreoregon #exploregon #1859oregon #backyardbend #thebestofbend #jj_oregon #sourceweekly #visitcentraloregon #cascadejournal #WeAreBend #inCentralOregon #centraloregon_igers #rei1440project #wildernessculture #canon #gettyimages #natgeo 500px #natgeoyourshot
